I started working for HEART full time in July 2016.  My main responsibilities are to work closely with our partners to meet their needs, and manage the strategic direction of the team.  I’ve worked in Widening Participation for 14 years, as a practitioner, as well as in a monitoring and advisory role.
So far, my favourite moment with HEART has been watching the start of the Partnership’s Collaborative HE Experience Summer School; the excitement and enthusiasm from the students was palpable.

I started at HEART in January 2016. Working closely with our HE partners, the LEP and local authorities I ensure that all efforts of developing and promoting higher level skills pathways – including apprenticeships – with schools and business in the region are joined-up.  I am a trained teacher and careers guidance professional with 12 years’ experience in the education and information advice and guidance sectors.
A favourite moment of mine from HEART so far has been attending the recent WP Network Event: Enduring Inequalities and New Agendas for WP in HE, alongside representatives from our partners.

I joined HEART in December 2015 as the Single Point of Contact (SPoC), coordinating the partnership’s outreach and delivery under the HEFCE-funded National Networks for Collaborative Outreach. I have held several previous posts in HE, including research, lecturing and WP. My interest in WP is personal as well as professional, and I have also spoken about the transformative capacity of HE in a recent Radio 4 documentary.
Since joining HEART, my favourite moment was our evening out at summer school, watching the students grow in confidence, form friendships and really support each other.

df3I started working for HEART in June 2016 as the HEART Partnership Assistant, offering administrative support to ensure the smooth running of our activities and events.
I graduated in 2015 after spending four years studying Fine Art. During my degree I spent time working as a student ambassador to promote the importance of higher education to prospective students from WP backgrounds; working for HEART has allowed me to further explore this interest My favourite achievement in my role so far has been getting the team successfully moved into our new offices!
