The Student Engagement & Outreach Team works with schools, colleges and young people throughout the UK to raise awareness of Further and Higher Education options. Our aim is to inspire young people to progress to Further and Higher Education and advise them about the courses available.
Students at Calderdale College can gain a university-level qualification while studying locally. Being part of a small group of around 300 students, having industry-experienced tutors, and accessing high quality academic skill support are just some of the reasons that our students choose to study here. At Calderdale College, we offer outreach by holding open days, taster events and careers talks for local schools to inspire and encourage young people to progress onto higher education.
Kirklees College offers an exciting programme of degree level courses at a range of centres. Choose from animal care, business, childhood studies, counselling, creative industries, engineering, IT or teaching.

The Access & Widening Participation team facilitates a programme of activities which seek to raise the motivation, aspiration and attainment of young people. During the year the team have developed and facilitated a programme of activities designed to make higher education accessible to young people from all backgrounds.
Leeds City College
A suite of free options for individual or groups of Schools, Academies, SILCs, PRUs and other providers, to plan and book with Leeds City College for pupils, parents/carers and staff.
The 14-19 Transition Team at the College can plan, deliver and host a whole range of taster and showcase activities to provide you with the opportunity to learn more about college life and help you make an informed decision about your future.
Leeds College of Art
Leeds College of Art is strongly committed to its outreach and aspiration raising activities. Widening Participation is embedded within our mission statement and our values. We work hard to engage with young people, mature learners and communities as part of the OFFA (Office for Fair Access) agreed Access Agreement.
Leeds College of Building
Leeds College of Building are the only specialist further and higher education construction college in the UK. We offer a great alternative to sixth form, courses are based on careers in the building services, construction and engineering sectors. A variety of routes and courses are available, including full-time, part-time and Apprenticeships.

The Schools and Colleges Liaison Team offer a comprehensive range of services for teachers and advisers. Our activities aim to support work currently taking place encouraging those who may be considering entering Higher Education and to target groups currently under represented in Higher education through a programme of inreach and outreach activities.
University of Bradford
Our UK and Eire Recruitment and Outreach team works with schools and colleges to raise aspirations for all students and to provide information, advice and guidance to those who are applying to University.
The UK Recruitment and Outreach Team are committed to providing a high quality service to all customers in a friendly customer focused environment. We aim to deliver quality services that are accessible to all in our Customer Care Charter.
The team offers a wide range of activities for students of all ages, teachers and advisers and parents, to help them to make their higher education choices.
University of Huddersfield
The Schools and Colleges Liaison Service at the University of Huddersfield provides:
- Impartial information, advice and guidance about how to research Higher Education (HE) courses and institutions.
- Specialist advice on topics such as student finance and making an effective application through UCAS.
We also work closely with our school and college partners across the region with the aim of widening participation to HE through awareness, aspiration and attainment raising activities for young people currently under-represented in HE.
The team provides a number of progression activities for adult learners as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for school/college staff and careers advisers.
We are also happy to be the liaison point between school/college staff wishing to form links with University staff in specific subject areas.
All members of the Schools and Colleges Liaison Team at Huddersfield, including Student Ambassadors, have passed the relevant safeguarding checks (DBS) and have undertaken child safeguarding training.
University of Leeds
Our Educational Engagement team works closely with hundreds of schools and colleges every year to raise awareness of, and aspirations towards, higher education. We offer an extensive programme of events and activities for primary and secondary school learners, post-16 students, teachers and higher education advisors.
University at Wakefield College offers outreach work through, taster events, subject talks, open days, careers and student finance talks for local schools and College further education students to raise aspirations and develop progression pathways to raise aspirations and increase progression to higher education among those who would otherwise not progress.
