www.bookcascade.co.uk – this site compares the prices of textbooks online to find the cheapest price it is available for. This will help with the textbooks needed for the course, however it is recommended that you know the book you are searching for when visiting the site as the browse option brings up irrelevant results. Other book comparison sites are www.booksprice.co.uk and www.123pricecheck.com and a good idea would be to search on all of these sites before buying as different sites have different cheapest prices available. These sites may not be as useful to those studying subjects such as law or medicine where content is likely to become outdated but some fairly recent textbooks can be found through searching for considerably less than retail price. However for students studying subjects such as English Literature where the core texts often don’t change it is a helpful tool to avoid pricey textbook bills.
