Wakefield are planning to hold another HE information event at St Swithun’s Community Centre (WF1 4RW) similar to last year’s programme (information covered last year included topics such as student life, the level and type of study in HE, specialist facilities available, support for students, student travel and finance, and student Ambassadors). This would be aimed at KS4 students and parents. Last year Inder did a great introduction followed by 2 workshops on student finance and HE courses/career paths available and a Q&A session with student ambassadors from Leeds Beckett.
Venue: St Swithun’s Community Centre, Arncliffe Road, East Moor, Wakefield, WF1 4RR
St Swithun’s have suggested 11 May as the date but Thurs 12 May is also a possibility from 6.00-8.00pm.
Hi. I can do Wed 11th May but I’m unavailable Thurs 12th May. Happy to do a workshop. Thanks, Jo
I can do this, I’d be happy to run an introduction to HE, a workshop, and supply two ambassadors for a Q and A.
If someone else could do the another workshop, we could split up topics
All the best,
If Sophie and Jo are covering this, I’m guessing this is plenty of resource from the group? I’d be happy to be on standby if needed, so will leave it pencilled in my diary for now. Thanks
Great – thanks everyone. I will get back to them and suggest we stick with the 11th May. Will keep you posted (and I will let you know asap whether you are needed, Liam). Very best, Anna
I’ve done a lot of student finance talks/workshops over the last few months, so if that’s an important part of the day I’d be happy to take that on. Let me know.
Thanks for all of your offers of support, but Nigel tells me this is now covered. Apologies for the confusion. See below for details:
Thanks for this. Date is confirmed as Wed 11 May 6.00-8.00pm at St Swithun’s. Already have support offered by Wakefield College (Andrew Cawtheray) and Leeds Beckett (Yvonne Rayner) and Huddersfield (Keeley Hutton) so I think we are well covered unless someone pulls out.
I anticipate this will be a small scale event for City Academy parents/KS4 students 50-70 people aimed at providing generic info about HE.
