Ian also mentioned a potential Mini HE Careers Fair where the local universities come into school and have stands so students can go round each stand and get information. A lot of our students generally stay local so an event like this would work quite well and wondered if this could also be an option?
Bradford College would be able to attend either/both dates for this Fair.
I will attend on behalf of Leeds City College. Either date although if 13th am is personal statement workshop then 13th would be betterJo
Lucy can also support this on behalf of Trinity. Thanks, Anna
Yes I am available for both dates either/or/both.
Would they also benefit if we offered a personal statement writing presentation/workshop before the draft reading session in July?
Hi Martell, many thanks for this – and yes, a writing workshop is a good idea – I will suggest it to the school and see what they say.
I could attend on 13th July alongside the PS checking. If it’s 6ht July then I’ll be able to send a colleague. Liam (UoH)
Leeds Beckett could attend and send ambassadors on 6th July for both events, but not on July 13th as our biggest residential is in the middle of July. Our ambassadors have experience in checking personal statements so this could be useful. Let us know what is decided.
Hi everyone, many thanks for all of your offers to support this. To confirm, both the personal statements and options fair will go ahead on the 13th July. The school is running internal writing workshops for the personal statements the week beforehand (I offered support for this, but they are happy just to have us there on the 13th). For those of you that can support this on the 13th, please consider this confirmed. We can go over the finer details a bit nearer the time, but it will be great to have a good cross section of the partnership represented. Best wishes, Anna
Dear All, please see an update from the school below, regarding location and student numbers. Many thanks, Anna
we have booked IT rooms and the Post16 centre for all day – in the morning i think we are going to split around 90 students into 4 groups – so probably groups of around 22,23 etc, and in the afternoon the students will probably all walk round the different tables at the same time as there is enough space for this in the post 16 centre as we have the main common room and two additional classrooms for this
It’s not logged here, but I’ve previously confirmed LCC cannot support this any more as I am on leave.
I am terribly sorry but I have just realised that I cannot do this as I am not in the country. Many apologies, Jo
