Yes Bradford College would definitely like to be involved with this – we could offer some work around Student Finance (we have the Cash Course which is highly interactive and works with younger age groups) and could also ask our Apprenticeship team to run a session to fit what the school have requested.

Thanks everyone.

Lucy confirms that Trinity can likely provide ambassadors for this.

Hi everyone, please see my reply to Liam’s comment below. The teacher has not allowed very much time for this, and he does not want the carousel model. So we are now just looking for x2 15 minute activities – one focused on more generic aspiration raising in relation to HE, and one that looks at apprenticeships if possible – Roy, please can you look into this and see if your team can put something together for the apprenticeships side? As for the HE side, I don’t know if some of you would like to work together, or if one of you wants to take it – please let me know your thoughts on this. We will be running a courses carousel at this school in July, and we will need 6 activities for that, so there will be more scope for everyone to get involved. My apologies for the confusion regarding this activity and the time frames (I was originally working on the principle what we would have the whole morning, but it appears that whoever the teacher has spoken to previously, has agreed this model, so if we can work with it along the lines I’ve outlined, I would be very grateful! Many thanks,Anna

Hi. I’m still happy to be involved – either in delivering/leading one of the 2 sessions or supporting someone else? However, as it is only going to be an activity totaling 30 mins, and that it is for Yr9s, I think too many partners being there probably isn’t the best use of resources. I’ve got it in the diary so just let me know either way – Jo

I’d be happy to attend this. What age group are the students? Liam

HEART Staff replied 3 years ago

Hi Liam, its for year 9 students. I have had some difficulty pinning down what is required here, as the teacher wants this to run over just two periods (8.55-10.35), and I was having trouble clarifying the logistics of delivering it in such a short time. I spoke to the teacher yesterday, though, and he advises that he wants this delivered to 75 students (in 3 groups of 25). Rather than a carousel, though, he wants each group of 25 students to attend for half an hour each. So we are really looking for x2 15 minute activities, to be delivered 3 times to each of the groups. Ideally, this would incorporate 15 minutes on a general overview of HE/aspiration raising activity, and 15 minutes thinking about apprenticeships and more vocational training. This does not allow us much room to manoeuvre, but I guess we will just have to be short and sweet! Thanks, Anna

I’ve booked 3 of our ambassadors for this. Depending on what the school want and which other partners can attend, I can either split them up to do multiple sessions at the same time, or they can lead a session together. Thanks

Thanks Liam, shall include this within a activity report i’ll send this week. Thank you

Hi all, I’ll happily do the HE side, with someone else doing the apprenticeships side. I think 2 of us as partners would be ok – any more and I agree with Jo that it becomes a waste of resources. Let me know and I’ll confirm it in my diary. Thanks, Liam
