Looked After Child & Care Leavers Open Day
National Care Leavers` Week runs from 22nd October to 30th October 2015 and aims to highlight the needs of care leavers and encouraging the agencies responsible for looking after them to work in a coordinated and effective way.
The week is also about focussing the minds of politicians on the lack of support for the specific needs of individuals being in care and raising public awareness about the invisible minority who face a particular set of challenges as they enter adult life. Bradford College plays its part by organising an awareness event that will included talks by Darren Coyne, Projects and Development Manager at Care Leavers` Association (CLA), Dr Jim Goddard, Chair at CLA and Head of Sociology and Criminology at University of Bradford and Ed Nixon, Chair of Every Child Leaving Care Matters.
Following the event, Bradford College would like to invite you to an Open Day in our brand new Advanced Technology Centre, that has been specifically organised for Looked After Children and Care Leavers. Come and find out what Bradford College offers in terms of studies, but also what help and support is available. You will be able to find out more about our courses, get careers advice from our Information, Advice & Guidance Team and take a tour of the College.
