Celebrating Race Equality and Diversity in Education
In conjunction with celebrations for Black History Month, Leeds Beckett University invite you to the 2nd Biennial Race Equality and Diversity Lecture.
Hosted by Professor Kevin Hylton, Chair of Leeds Beckett University Race Equality and Diversity Forum, the event will include presentations from guest speakers, followed by a lively panel discussion, debate and Q&A session.
A brief overview of the evening’s event:
The evening will start with networking with refreshments provided.
“This Again! Race Equality and Education”
A Presentation by Baroness Glenys Thornton, Shadow Spokesperson (Equalities and Women’s issues) House of Lords.
“Lessons from the Media”
A Presentation by Rodney Hinds, Sports Editor of The Voice newspaper. Amongst other publications Rodney is the co-author of Black Pearls- an A-Z of Black Footballers in the English Game.
“Yes we can!”
A Presentation by Clifford Harding. Mr N K (aka Clifford Harding) is an entrepreneur from Birmingham who has successfully developed Tunes Times Tables, an innovative method of teaching children their times tables.
Dr Vivienne Caruana will chair the panel of guest speakers. They will be joined by Dr Joan O’ Mahony, who is a Consultant in Academic Practice at the Higher Education Academy.
