HEART was delighted to be named by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) as the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for 11-18 state funded schools in West Yorkshire as part of the newly established National Network for Collaborative Outreach.
As a result we have refreshed our website to enhance content and functionality for schools in accessing information about our partners Outreach Activities and campus based events. We can also announce and welcome Tracey Myers to the HEART team who will be the human Single Point of Contact for schools. As HEART is about to move office Tracey is currently awaiting a telephone number so temporarily can be contacted via the HEART email account email@example.com.
Our refreshed website has retained our events calendar which schools have previously reported as really helpful and saving time looking round all twelve institutions.
We have now added dedicated pages for each of our partner’s School Outreach activities showing in detail the wide range of support available to schools. We have supplemented this with an Outreach Overview page which enables you to search by partner or by theme.
We have often found that teachers, parents and students often wish to see what courses are available at our partner institutions and we have therefore taken the opportunity to add in a searchable database of these. Courses can be searched by location or by subject and once courses of interest are found the links take you to the Unistats website so that information on current student course satisfaction and prior student employability levels can be obtained.
We have also provided links to a range of resources for schools to use and including useful links to UCAS and to sites relating to Student Finance. We will continue to enhance the website in the months ahead with the aim to add video content, factsheets and additional outreach resources, not only for 11-18 schools but also for primary schools and for mature learners. Keep checking back onto the site for further content updates.
For businesses and individuals we have taken the opportunity to reformat content relating to the Local Enterprise Partnership.
If you have any ideas for further improvements to our site or wish to suggest additional content that you would find useful please get in touch.
