West Yorkshire has the largest concentration of higher education providers outside London and between our twelve partners there are well over 100,000 students working toward degrees and masters at any one time.
All our partners are naturally keen to support their students in having not only an excellent academic experience but also to provide access to work experience and connectivity with businesses thereby supporting their future employability. All our partners operate a range of schemes to support students to access work experience opportunities. One such scheme is that offered by our partner University of Bradford with their Summer Experience scheme.
This naturally helps businesses too as it provides a low cost means of bringing in someone to focus on that project you need to get started but have struggled to find the time for and a fresh pair of eyes to offer new ideas into the business. The Summer Experience at Bradford scheme has funding available to enable charities and voluntary groups to pay nothing and small medium enterprises (SME) a 60% subsidy toward the cost, meaning 6 weeks work costs only £540. Larger companies will only pay just over £1300. Better still, the University deals with all payroll and contracting issues leaving you to simply benefit from the extra resource.
Full information on the Summer Experience scheme including contact details are contained in their leaflet.
Naturally, if you need students at other times of year or wish to discuss options at other partner institutions feel free to contact HEART and we can discuss options with you and put you in touch with the right people.
