We are delighted to be supporting a CATS Colloquium being held by Bradford College on 26 March 2013.
CATS is a system whereby prior certificated learning can receive ‘credit’ toward other qualifications, thereby making progression to and completion of further qualifications simpler and quicker.
The CATS system has existed for many years but has been rather hidden from public view and not utilised as fully as perhaps it should be. As a result of funding from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) the HEART partnership has been working with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) to clarify and make transparent credit transfer from their qualifications into a range of foundation degrees, degrees and masters programmes at HEART partners.
We now wish to explore how the learning from this project can support wider dialogue between academics, awarding bodies and business in order to broaden credit transfer into other subject disciplines. Bradford College will lead the colloquium with a broad aim to make CATS a reality rather than a concept.
We would be delighted to have people attending from as wide a range of backgrounds and interest as possible with a view to really developing strong dialogue and relationships for making CATS live in West Yorkshire. To attend please register HERE.
